THE STARTING POINT
What is a jet card?
A jet card is a private aviation program built around prepaid flight access. Programs may use an allocation of flight hours or a debit-style balance. The provider’s contract determines aircraft access, pricing, eligible destinations and booking rules.
The name “jet card” alone does not tell you whether a program fits your trips. Compare the actual agreement, including minimum charges, cancellation rules and restrictions.
COMPARE THE COMMITMENT
Jet cards, charter & memberships.
Use these questions to compare actual proposals. Terms vary by provider and program.
| What to compare | Jet card | On-demand charter | Membership |
|---|---|---|---|
| Upfront commitment | Hours, deposit or balance required? | Deposit and payment for this trip? | Annual fee plus flight costs? |
| Flight pricing | Fixed, variable or category-based rate? | What does the trip quote include? | How are member flight rates calculated? |
| Aircraft access | Which categories and operators are included? | Which aircraft is quoted, and can it change? | What access does the fee provide? |
| Busy travel dates | Peak-day rules, surcharges or blackout dates? | Availability and pricing for these dates? | Does membership change peak-day access? |
| Changes & cancellations | Notice periods and deducted hours or charges? | Cancellation fees in the trip agreement? | Flight and membership cancellation terms? |
| Unused funds | Expiration, refund and transfer rules? | Refund terms for this booking? | Refundability of fees and prepaid balances? |

Understand expiration, refunds, transferable balances, cancellation charges and renewal requirements.
06 / The counterparty
Confirm who holds your funds, who arranges the trip and which operator performs the flight.

Common questions
Does a jet card guarantee every flight?
Check the provider’s written availability commitment, notice periods, aircraft category, service area and peak-day rules. Do not assume unrestricted access.
Is a jet card always cheaper than charter?
Compare full written costs for your actual trips. An hourly rate alone does not account for minimums, fees, unused balances or restrictions.
Can I use the BAJN calculator to price a jet card?
The calculator estimates an illustrative charter budget. It does not quote a provider’s jet card rate or predict savings from a particular program.
Does BAJN sell its own jet card?
No BAJN-issued jet card is offered on this page. The planned model is to connect travelers with verified partner offers through disclosed referrals.
