Jet Card or Charter? Compare the Commitment
Build the comparison around your real trips, unused funds and booking rules—not just an hourly rate.

A jet card and an individual charter quote answer different planning questions. Before choosing a program, describe the travel you expect to take: destinations, passenger numbers, preferred dates and how often your plans change. That information creates a more useful comparison than a single advertised rate.
Compare one real itinerary
Ask a jet card provider to explain how your typical trip would be billed. Then request an on-demand quote for the same airports, dates and passenger requirements. Write down minimum charges, included services and anything that remains outside the quoted amount.
Published provider materials demonstrate why contracts matter. NetJets describes a card program with set pricing, while Flexjet describes its own debit-style jet card access. These are examples of program structures—not BAJN partner offers or endorsements.
Account for the commitment
Ask how much you must commit initially, how long funds or hours remain usable and whether unused balances can be refunded or transferred. Include annual fees or renewal requirements in the comparison when they apply. A rate is only part of the decision if your money will remain committed between trips.
Check your busiest travel dates
Request the current peak-day and blackout calendar. Ask how far ahead you must book and what flexibility the provider requires around departure times. Confirm the service area and aircraft categories that cover your actual journeys.
Build a simple decision sheet
- My typical routes and travel dates.
- Total written cost for a representative trip.
- Initial commitment and rules for unused funds.
- Booking, change and cancellation requirements.
- Aircraft category and any substitution provisions.
Use the same rows for each offer. Leave a field blank when an answer has not been confirmed, rather than assuming the program includes it.
BAJN’s Jet Cards guide organizes these comparison questions. Its charter calculator does not quote a provider’s jet card price or establish that a particular card will save money.
